The last attempt to organize a South Florida Kaizen group fell through with lack of a true focus. Talking to my coworkers lately I found there was still a need for such a group to exist, and so I am reviving the project with hopes of better success this time around.
You may ask yourself, what’s different this time? The difference is a clear focus. I don’t want SF Kaizen to become some amorphous concept that loosely ties people and ideas together. I want it to be something of value to its members, I want it to make a difference.
The focus of SF Kaizen will now be improving knowledge and practices when coding. I still do not want to tie it to a single programming language, I feel this group is more about learning than programming anyways. My coworkers have expressed desire to learn more about different technologies, techniques, and styles employed when programming. That is exactly what SF Kaizen is all about, and that is what it will be.
